Beze, Theodore de (1519-1605)
He was a French reformer, Calvin's colleague, one of the authors of the Huguenot psalm book. In Hungary he was known as "Beza". His Latin psalm paraphrases - in verse and prose - were the models of Bálint Balassi's religious songs.
