The representations of Christ, Mary and the saints to which believers attribute special, supernatural power. The miracles of devotional pictures, statues are usually connected to a place or a given situation, as in the case of sacred wells and springs. Such representations are the most important feature of place of pilgrimage, sometimes it is the aim of the pilgrimage, or the object of adoration. Miraculous events are connected to the origin of these objects. In the 1690s certain Virgin Mary representations started to shed tears, this is why they became devotional pictures (for example, the "Saracen Mary" of Pócs, a devotional picture from Győr).
