forspont
The name originated from the German word Vorspann = fore team, which referred to a villein service at the end of the 17th century in Hungary. To help transport and supply soldiers fighting in the country and different office-holders villeins were obliged to provide their horses and carts. Although villeins had the right to a carriage for providing their team of horses they could be obliged to do so regardless of the weather, distance and dangers of the road.
