wool refiner (tailor of long embroidered felt cloaks)
The craftsman who made felt cloaks from woollen linen. One phase of making broad-cloth is cleaning the wool before spinning, that is separating good-quality wool from heavier type. From the 16-17th century tailors of the Great Plain worked with fine or harder broad-cloth made by Transylvanian Saxons. So wool refiners did not have to do their jobs any more.
