bagazia
This dyed cotton linen in various colours was used for various purposes. Sources refer to it as the lining of coats, short fur coats, even horse covers, but it was also used as the material for underwear, blankets, tents or banners. At the end of Turkish occupation and at the beginning of the 18th century it was imported in great quantities by tradesmen from the Balkans, who regarded themselves as Greek or Turkish.
