Vizsoly Bible
The first complete Hungarian-language Bible was finished in 1590. The translation was made by a small group of people led by Gáspár Károlyi Reformed Pastor. The work must have began in the 1570's and the different texts were unified from 1586. Károlyi supplemented these with marginal notes and prepared content summaries before the chapters. Printing works in Vizsoly were directed by Bálint Mantskovit and the printing itself lasted one and a half years. Including its revised versions this book has been issued in the largest numbers in Hungary.
