psalm book

King David playing the harp 1
The scholarly psalm book written in prose by István Székely was already published in 1548. Similar, entirely prosaic psalm translation was also published by Gáspár Heltai (1560) and the Reformed Vizsoly Bible also contains such psalms (1590). In the 16th century only the radical Anti-Trinitarians had a complete psalm book at their disposal (psalterium) - this was compiled by Miklós Fazekas Bogáti and was only issued in a hand-written version.
