Renaissance poetry
Renaissance poetry originates from Italy (from the 14-15th century) and was spread by Petrarca. Besides the following of the Petrarcist traditions, its distinctive features are the following: the use of imagery from ancient mythology, imitating of ancient poets, the visualisation of nature elements, the proportionate and closed (often symmetrical) structure of poems, and their organising into larger sections.
