eight young men

It was a circle of poets. Supposedly, the first Hungarian female poet, Kata Telegdi (after 1550 - after 1599), also belonged to them. Only one of her works survived, a bucolic letter, where prose and verse altered. She dedicated this work to a lady, who probably was István Báthori's wife. Her husband's secretary was János Rimay for a while. This literary circle may have been formed on the Ecsed estate, which was offered to Pallas and Minerva, and there might have been poetic competitions there.
