István Koháry (1649-1731)

He was a Viennese court person, loyal to the Habsburgs. Later he was a captain in a fortress, in 1682 he was captured by Imre Thököly, where he became a poet. He wrote poems about the beauties of nature and court life in baroque, allegoric style. His works appeared in booklets without the name of the author and place of printing, between 1720-1726, probably in Nagyszombat.
