Palatics codexAn interesting source of Turkish literature during the occupation of Hungary. It was written by a Hungarian or German traitor in 1588-1589. Besides Hungarian, German and Croatian poems it contains a lot of Turkish and Persian poems as well: divan and asic poems, lyrics. It shows the literary taste of people during the years of Turkish occupation, ranging from the most direct asic poems to the most sophisticated gazels and courting poems. SB |
