Story, narration, legend. Official story-tellers (meddah) tell it in the months of fasting (ramazan). Poetic and prosaic parts changed when it was performed: the prosaic parts presented the events of the plot, while the poetic parts were lyrical insertions. The songs are often asic poems. The topic of hikayes were the love stories of certain asics.
