the tomb of Zsófia Patócsi
One of the best known Late Renaissance funerary monuments in Transylvania. On the cover, the figure of the deceased can be seen in low relief; on the longer sides, there is a row of triple tulip plants. The tomb was originally painted. It is the work of a master from Kolozsvár (Cluj); the form of the entablatures resembles the corresponding details of the tombs of Queen Isabella and János Zsigmond. The tomb was ordered by the younger István Báthory of Somlyó (the nephew of the Polish king) for his mother-in-law, and originally stood in the Reformed church of Küküllővár (Cetatea de Baltă). Today it is housed in the Muzeul de Istorie in Bucharest.
