Wolphardus, Fortunatus, Taurinus, Francofordinus
Adrianus Wolphardus (Adrian Enyedi, 1491-1544)
A humanist poet and philologist. Most of his poems were lost. He studied law in Bologne from 1521-1522 and he published Janus Pannonius's Marcello paneGyRicus, his Greek translations and elegies there. He found the manuscripts in Gyulafehérvár, where he was canon from 1516. He thought these publications would be used in schools.

Matthaeus Fortunatus (Lucky Matthew, † 1528)
He studied at the university of Padua, where he analysed and commented on Seneca Maior's scientific work (Naturales Quaestiones). It was published in 1523 in Venice. Erasmus praised his work, he mentioned his name and adopted his corrections in his own revised Seneca edition (1529).

Stephanus Taurinus (Stephen Sieröxl, 1480 ? - 1519)
He was legal advisor to Thomas Bakócz, Archbishop of Esztergom. From 1517 he was vicar and canon alongside Francis Várdai at Gyulafehérvár. In his Stauromachia he described the events and causes of the Dózsa peasants' revolt according to his own tastes and interests.

Bartholomeus Francofordinus Pannonius (around 1490 - before 1540)
He studied at the universities of Cracow and Vienna. From 1517 he was a school master in Buda then Selmecbánya, later a Lutheran preacher at Besztercebánya. He was part of the humanist circles of George Szatmári, Bishop of Pécs.
