"In 1985 the Secretary General of the UN and the Organisation of African Unity decided to set up a mission aimed at the final settlement of the disputed territory. Both the Kingdom of Morocco and the Polisario agreed on the purpose of the mission but the agreement was achieved as late as 30 th August 1988."
